About
Brendan Shaw spent the first 17 years of his life growing up in Walnut Grove - a suburb of Langley, British Columbia. He attended Topham Elementary, Gordon Greenwood Elementary, and Dorothy Peacock Elementary schools before graduating from Walnut Grove Secondary School (WGSS). During this time he played competitive sports including soccer, hockey, and Track and Field with the Langley Mustangs. In his spare time, Brendan volunteered teaching swimming lessons, working at the local retirement residence, and participating on the Youth Advisory and Parks and Recreation boards with the Township of Langley. From this, Brendan was able to travel throughout British Columbia and attend various conventions which ultimately led him to consider Thompson River's University (TRU) for post secondary education.
While attending TRU in Kamloops, Brendan enrolled in the Real Estate Trading Services program through the University of British Columbia (UBC) Sauder School of Business. By the age of 18 Brendan had met all the requirements and soon joined Royal Lepage as a licensed REALTOR®. After selling nearly $5,000,000 worth of residential and commercial real estate in his first year, Brendan enrolled in the Broker Licensing program through UBC and became an Associate Broker a year later.
Soon after his move to Kamloops, Brendan began investing in the local real estate market. It was while volunteering with Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) at the university that he met two of his business partners and formed Kamloops Apartment Rentals Ltd. - a multi-million dollar real estate holding company.
